Foward-looking, dialogue-based, solutions-oriented, and focused on people and their needs — this is the future of journalism. But what does this mean in practice? And what skills, knowledge and structures are needed for this?
These are the questions at the heart of the bonn institute magazine. The new publication by the Bonn Institute combines analytical depth with practical insights and is aimed at everyone who wants to help shape the future of journalism.
"Innovation in journalism is about far more than focusing on platforms and technology. If media organizations want to remain successful, they must create content that people find relevant and value," says Ellen Heinrichs, founder and CEO of the Bonn Institute.
With the bonn institute magazine, the non-profit Bonn Institute creates a space for reflection and innovation driven by the belief that the current crisis of trust and transformation facing the media is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity. Drawing on real-world examples, the magazine shows how newsrooms and editorial departments are already effecting change by using solutions-oriented approaches, incorporating diverse perspectives, and fostering dialogue in society. The ultimate aim is to counter news avoidance and build sustainable relationships between publishers and audiences.
The magazine is now available in the Bonn Institute's online shop.
