Finances

The Bonn Institute was founded in November 2021 as a non-profit limited liability company. The managing partners are Deutsche Welle, Rheinische Post Mediengruppe, the Constructive Institute and RTL Deutschland. The initial phase of the Bonn Institute (2021-2023) was made possible by start-up funding from the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Public funding continued from 2024 onward as part of NRW's support for the media. Additional financing for the b° future festival comes from sponsors, partners and ticket sales. The Bonn Institute also generates revenue by providing consulting services to media companies, conducting workshops and other training programs, and giving lectures.
